Welcome

I’m Dr. Esha Khurana, a psychiatrist and psychotherapist based in Pittsburgh, serving patients in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. I work with people facing illness, loss, and the complexities of being human. My approach is rooted in compassion, honesty, evidence-based rigor, and curiosity, with space for meditation and silence.
I offer therapy and medication management, in person at my office in Squirrel Hill, and virtually for patients in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
I see patients through Cibola Psychiatry. To schedule an appointment or ask any questions, you can call 412-212-6637, email ekhurana@cibolapsych.com, or visit www.cibolapsych.com.

About Dr. Khurana
I have always been drawn to questions of suffering, healing, and how to live with wisdom, love, reason, and gratitude.
As a teenager, I worked as an EMT, meeting people in moments of crisis. In medical school, I faced my own pain and trauma, which led me to look beyond the limits of the traditional medical model.
In the midst of that pain, I found guidance in therapeutic and contemplative practices—Internal Family Systems, Focusing, imaginal work, Hakomi, Mahamudra, and interfaith spirituality. These practices deepened my commitment to presence and compassion. I also find grounding in evidence-based approaches to medicine that help us be real about what we know and what we don’t.
I chose to train in both family medicine and psychiatry to care for the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. Since then, I have worked with people living with serious medical conditions, those facing cancer or end-of-life concerns, and those seeking help with depression, anxiety, or other mental health challenges.
Through my work and practice, I have experienced a gradual but real growth of peace and acceptance—within myself and in my relationships. I am grateful to the family, friends, mentors, and patients who have shaped me in my journey. Now, it is my deep privilege to walk alongside others and to support them in their journeys.
